| Think you strained your hamstring? Now what? What is the best first thing to do? Introducing: The Extender It’s my favorite first exercise to give to patient’s who’ve just strained their hamstring. I created a video demonstrating the exercise HERE Hamstring strain rehab is relatively simple and involves a series of progressive eccentric and isometric exercises But The Extender is step 1 Essentially what you do is provide a very gentle and momentary stretch to the hamstring. Key words: gentle and momentary Don’t aggressively stretch your hamstring for a long time. And for that matter, don’t do either of those things in any combination.
